Article 7 – Open Studio

The Open Studio is intended for participants who are able to work independently and wish to further develop their ceramic skills in a calm and inspiring studio environment. The Open Studio is not a course and no formal instruction is provided.

Participation in the Open Studio is only available to participants who have completed a course at Studio ARceramics or who, in the opinion of Studio ARceramics, have sufficient experience to work safely and independently.

Studio ARceramics reserves the right to assess whether a participant has the required level of experience. Participation may be refused if this is considered necessary for the safety of the studio, the quality of the working environment or the well-being of other participants.

During Open Studio sessions, guidance is available for practical questions and supervision. Participants work independently and remain responsible for their own work and decisions.

Participants are expected to treat the studio, workspaces, tools and materials with care. Workstations must be cleaned and left tidy at the end of each session.

Only clay purchased through Studio ARceramics may be used during Open Studio sessions, unless prior permission has been granted. Personal glazes or other materials may only be used with prior approval from Studio ARceramics.

Only Studio ARceramics, or a person authorised by Studio ARceramics, may operate the kilns or firing programmes.

The current rates and conditions for the Open Studio are published on the Studio ARceramics website. Any different arrangements will be confirmed in writing.

Studio ARceramics reserves the right to refuse or terminate participation in the Open Studio in the event of unsafe, disruptive or inappropriate behaviour.

Article 8 – Ceramics, Glazing and Firing

Studio ARceramics handles all ceramic work with the greatest possible care. However, ceramics remain a handmade and natural process in which cracking, warping, breakage, colour variations or other unexpected results may occur during drying, glazing or firing.

For this reason, Studio ARceramics cannot guarantee a successful final result and accepts no liability for damage to or loss of ceramic work during the ceramic process, unless caused by intentional misconduct or deliberate recklessness.

Studio ARceramics reserves the right to refuse to fire work that is considered unsafe or that may pose a risk to the kiln, other work or the safety of the studio.

Unless stated otherwise, clay, glazes and firing costs are included in the price of courses.

Finished work must be collected within three months after notification or after the course or workshop has ended. If collection within this period is not possible, participants are requested to contact Studio ARceramics.

If work has not been collected after a reminder has been sent, Studio ARceramics reserves the right to dispose of or recycle the work. No compensation or refund can be claimed.

Article 9 – Safety and Studio Rules

Studio ARceramics strives to provide a safe, calm and inspiring environment where every participant can enjoy working with clay. Participants are expected to treat fellow participants, instructors, the studio, tools and materials with respect.

Participants must follow the instructions of Studio ARceramics and any guest instructors. These instructions are intended to ensure safety, maintain the quality of the work and create a pleasant working environment.

Equipment, machinery and kilns may not be used without the permission of Studio ARceramics. All tools and materials must be handled with care.

If damage is caused to the property of Studio ARceramics or to the property of another participant through intentional or careless behaviour, Studio ARceramics reserves the right to recover the costs of the damage from the participant responsible.

Studio ARceramics reserves the right to address inappropriate, disruptive or unsafe behaviour. If necessary, participation in a course, workshop or Open Studio session may be terminated without entitlement to a refund.

Smoking and the use of alcohol or drugs are not permitted in the studio. Participants are expected to behave in a way that does not endanger themselves or others.

To maintain a calm and pleasant working environment, participants are kindly requested to keep mobile phones on silent whenever possible and to take phone calls outside the studio.

Article 10 – Liability

Participation in courses, workshops, Open Studio sessions and all other activities organised by Studio ARceramics is entirely at the participant’s own risk.

Studio ARceramics is not liable for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings, unless such loss or damage is the result of intentional misconduct or deliberate recklessness on the part of Studio ARceramics.

Studio ARceramics is only liable for direct damage resulting from intentional misconduct or deliberate recklessness. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any further liability is excluded.

Participants are responsible for their own personal belongings and for working safely during all activities.

If a participant intentionally or carelessly causes damage to the property of Studio ARceramics or to the property of another participant, Studio ARceramics reserves the right to recover the resulting costs from the participant responsible.

Article 11 – Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers issued by Studio ARceramics may be used to purchase courses, workshops and products, unless stated otherwise.

Gift vouchers are valid for two years from the date of issue, unless a different validity period is stated on the voucher.

Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash and are non-refundable.

Studio ARceramics is not obliged to replace lost, stolen or damaged gift vouchers.

Article 12 – Privacy

Studio ARceramics processes personal data with care and in accordance with the applicable privacy legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Personal data is used solely for processing registrations, payments, communication and the delivery of the services offered by Studio ARceramics.

Studio ARceramics will not share personal data with third parties unless this is necessary for the performance of the agreement or required by law.

Further information about the processing of personal data can be found in the Privacy Policy published on the Studio ARceramics website.

Article 13 – Photos and Videos

During courses, workshops and other activities, Studio ARceramics may take photographs and videos for use on its website, social media channels and other promotional materials.

The privacy of participants is always respected. Participants may inform Studio ARceramics before or during an activity if they do not wish to appear recognisably in photographs or videos. Studio ARceramics will respect this request.

Photographs and videos taken by participants may only be shared with respect for the privacy of other participants and instructors.

Article 14 – Intellectual Property

All course materials, designs, texts, photographs, images, videos and any other materials provided by Studio ARceramics remain the intellectual property of Studio ARceramics, unless stated otherwise.

These materials may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, published or used for commercial purposes without the prior written permission of Studio ARceramics.

Article 15 – Complaints

Studio ARceramics is committed to providing every participant with a professional and enjoyable experience. If, however, a participant has a complaint, they are encouraged to inform Studio ARceramics as soon as possible.

Complaints may be submitted by email or in writing. Studio ARceramics will handle every complaint with care and aims to provide a substantive response within 14 days.

If additional time is required to investigate a complaint, the participant will be informed accordingly.
